The National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund (NMPMFF) will be making some significant changes to our grant making and administrative systems in 2024, and will be making formal announcements in June/July.

The main reasons for this are as follows:

Having seen a very significant drop in donor income over recent years means that we have to manage our limited finance resources very carefully.

The current administration systems are time-intensive and can complicate and prolong the application process for all parties.

We want to focus our awards more prominently on affected families that are in critical and urgent need, with a quick and stress-free turnaround.

Families or campaigns that require support with more generalised or functional resources (e.g. IT hardware or stationary, t-shirt print and marketing, websites and social media etc) will be encouraged to use our low-priced online Give-Back Shop.

Finally, our Holiday Fund application process will be made much more streamlined and easier for eligible families to apply.

The NMPMFF will also be reviewing our Assessment Partners structure.

Application Assessment Partners are based in various locations around the UK and support applicants, make requests for the consideration of grants and encourage applicants’ feedback. They also help to promote and publicize the work of the NMPMFF.

We will be actively seeking to renew/refresh the commitment of current Assessment Partners, as well as inviting a range of new partners to participate.

The Assessment Partner support and promotions structure is crucial to the effective working of our grant programmes and other services.
