Families or their campaign groups can preview the options below to submit applications

Have you registered your campaign?

Families or their campaigns groups must first be registered with the National Memorial Family Fund website to be eligible for consideration of a grant.

If you have registered but not yet received a campaign reference number, please do not apply yet.

...

Important: If you have received a grant more than twice in the last 3 funding rounds, other applicants may be given a higher priority, and you might not receive an award during any current round.

The Holiday Fund

currently closed

Provides contributions towards respite breaks and short UK-based holidays tailored for children, young people and families affected by custody deaths and killings.

The Holiday Scheme application process has now been made much simpler and straightforward for applicants, meaning individual families (not just groups) can apply.

Strict criteria will ensure that the recently bereaved, children/young people affected by delayed trauma, re-emerged trauma etc, receive priority for awards.

There are no expectations on applicants to provide formal feedback on grants received.

UFFC Gift & Legacy Fund

In 2026, by mutual agreement, we merged the remaining Crisis Family Fund and UFFC Legacy Fund into one resource. This will sometimes be referred to as the Legacy Crisis Fund.
See the original launch article here

The Family Support Fund

currently suspended

Provides contributions towards more generalised needs and is announced periodically for limited periods.

Funds would be available for a range of things including (but not exclusively) the following:

  • Contributions to funerals or memorial events and / or remembrance structures
  • Promotional materials for campaigns (banners, t-shirts, badges, business cards etc)
  • For help with stationary, postal and related items or equipment for campaigns
  • Help towards travel costs to events, inquests or conferences
  • Assistance towards counselling or therapy services
  • Support with essential household provisions and bills

Grants for other purposes will be considered within reason. Affected families (active or not, past or present) can apply.

Strict criteria will ensure that the recently bereaved, children/young people affected by delayed trauma, re-emerged trauma etc, receive priority for these grants.

While there is no strict condition to provide feedback of the grants awarded, the NMPMFF would encourage recipients to provide us with some voluntary feedback of how the funds were used. This helps us to demonstrate to funders and donors how our grants are used and are included in our annual reports.
