We are extremely pleased to announce (following Round 1 Grants), the second round of National Memorial Family Fund grants opening on 7 December 2020 (We are also administering the UFFC Children’s Christmas Gift Fund) which families can also apply to.

Important: Affected families and/or campaigns will need to be registered on the NMPMFF website before applying for grants from the fund – various partners are available to assist families with applications.

The second Family Fund round opens on 7 December 2020 and closes on 7 February 2021.

The main difference in this second round (compared to round one) is that grants will not be awarded/issued on a rolling basis, but rather final decisions will be made after the closing date on 7 February 2021.

The exception to the above will be if it is confirmed by an Assessment Partner that the need is significantly urgent.

Second Round Family Fund Allocation:

The NMPMFF have set aside up to £10,000 to be distributed to applicants that meet the criteria for grants. However, in addition to the current conditions of grant, affected families can request general cash support if they have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be considered even if those families do not have an active campaign which is ongoing!

UFFC Children’s Christmas Gift Fund:

We are also administering the United Families & Friends Campaigns Children’s Christmas Gift Fund. UFFC have set aside up to £2,800 to be distributed to applicants that meet the criteria.

This fund will make a £50 Christmas payment to any affected child whose parent or carer was a victim of state custody death. The funds must be used for the direct benefit or enjoyment of that child over the Christmas& New Year period.

Families can apply to the Children's Christmas Gift Fund immediately.

The only conditions that apply are that:
  1. The child must be under 16 years of age
  2. A parent or carer of the child died in state custody
  3. Families that received Family Fund or Gift Fund awards in round one (ended in Sept 2020) are not generally eligible for this scheme
  4. Interested families should complete the expression of interest form (click here)

What Family Fund applicants need to do?

It is very important that applicants follow the advice provided in the Family Fund Quick Guide, to ensure that they are both eligible and ready to complete an application:
