Its principle aim is to recognise those affected families and individuals that have influenced structural change. Its secondary purpose is
to both raise the profile of, and resources
for the Memorial Family Fund.
At the heart of this effort was a small team of three sessional staff (under the direction and support of the Development & Fundraising
Co-ordinator) with responsibilities for particular areas of outreach and practical support towards this aim.
Following a significant 2-year donation commitment from the charity INQUEST, the initial plan was to hold two events, one in 2022 and the second the following year.
But in order to ensure that the planning, marketing and delivery of this initiative were well thought-out and executed; we had agreed to take the 'long haul' route.
The NMPMFF unanimously agreed to holding the inaugural event in late 2023, also coinciding with the 40th birthday of the charity INQUEST, and the 20th year since the killing of Mikey Powell in police custody.
